It MUST be Spring

A wonderful walk on the beach yesterday.  Rachel and I decided it was warm enough not only to peel off our jackets but to take off our shoes and walk barefoot.  Even on the wet sand at the edge of the turning tide, my feet were not too cold.  To me, this is the beginning of summer.  I'm hoping today, being Sunday, it will be nice enough to take my beach chair down to the sand and work on the Sunday crossword puzzle.  Ah...  we've waited long enough for this.

Oh yes, yes, yes June. This is what it is all about, living here on the Cape. This is the BEST time of the year for us and so worth the wait. You are so lucky to have Rachel nearby to share these moments. Enjoy.

We had much the same kind of weather here on the west coast. I took a long nature walk that always brings out the best in my thoughts. I imagine you and your daughter were some of the first of the season to enjoy the beach in your bare feet. -- barbara

Yes, Barbara, I think we were. Last year I think I was second. In fact, I wrote a poem about it which I think I'll copy and print here now that I'm thinking about it. It IS still National Poetry month.
